Contact
My name is Ederson, but most people call me by my nickname: Peka. Single since I was born in November, 1982, I live in São Paulo, Brazil, and work as a programmer.

Education

Graduated (July 2010) with a System Analysis and Development degree from Uniesp Educational Group.

Even before that, I had tasted and renounced a few courses: Graphic and Digital Publishing (UniFMU, 2006), Information Systems (USP, 2005) and Computer Science (IPEP, 2000).

I've attended Adventist Colleges for primary and secondary schooling.

Employment

I've always worked on IT, most of time on internet programming. Since July 2005 I help the programming team at Visie Web Standards Group, joining the development of some internal systems and several third-party websites (lots of PHP, tons of WordPress, many JavaScript/JQuery, and even a bit of Python).

From August 2006 to September 2007, I've provided programming services for UpLexis/Clip D.O., rewriting some internal systems and maintaining their institutional website (PHP, WordPress, JavaScript, old ASP scripts conversion, and even a bit of Perl).

Before all that stuff, from August 2002 to February 2006 I've worked at Atípico Multimedia designing third-party websites (ASP, PHP, JavaScript). But even before, I was part of the programming team at Gelre Informatics (January to July 2002) and a Network Administrator Trainee at Publicis Norton S.A. (July to December 2000).

Who's up for an appetizer?

Through all this time, some friends eventually needed help to create and publish their personal or business websites. I was pleased to help, for example, the portfolio of my friend Daniel Eis, who's a fabulous graphic designer. I was glad to develop the promotional page for Global Position tracking system, brilliantly designed by my friend Heber Lopes; as much as "Saúde com Sabor" website, written with property by my friend Eunice Vidal. More recently we've published the Virada Empresarial "hotsite", promoting a lecture by my friend Fábio Paradela; and the "Traços do Reino" website, presenting the work of the gifted illustrator Felipe Carmo.

You may get to know some of my WordPress work, and some personal projects about my church, my poetry community and the music that moves me.

World's best CMS!

WordPress

Dealing with a lot of WordPress developing, sometimes I naturally end up writing some plugins that may help other folks with similar needs. Therefore, every now and then I publish and update my humble contributions to WordPress' official plugin repository.

Reasons far beyond the reason

Church

I'm a christian, protestant, active member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church. I contribute with the development of our local church website. I've also supported and participated in developing some other faith-related projects: Ellen White Audio, AdventAudio, Online Sermons, BibleCast...

Poetry

One of my most challenging and rewarding tasks is to manage a contemporary poet community, known as Site de Poesias. I also maintain a poem compilation by well-known and consecrated writers, the Blog dos Poetas.

Music

Music have always touched me, and at some point, touching it turned out to be natural to me. Nowadays, I help the coordinating of a gospel lyrics translation website, and contribute to a choir and a vocal group at our local church.
